Tredethy is a glorious country mansion house set in the heart of the Camel Valley in Mid-Cornwall. The property has royal connections, having been purchased by Prince Chula of Siam in 1945. Chula was the legal guardian of Prince Bira, a famous motor-racing champion of the 1930s and 40s, and a large amount of associated memorabilia, books and photographs are available to view in the Tudor reading room.

Tredethy has ten very individual en-suite bedrooms; all are decorated and furnished to the highest standard to ensure that truly luxurious, “country house” feel. All beds are made up in crisp cotton bed linen; bathrooms have fluffy towels and bathrobes, quality toiletries and other little extras to make you feel thoroughly pampered. Front rooms have sweeping views of the stunning Camel Valley; and the rooms to the rear of the house overlook Tredethy’s inner courtyards. The grounds are beautifully maintained, and we know that you will feel very well looked after by the attentive owners and friendly staff.

The dining room, with its splendid plastered ceiling, its original stone fireplace and warming log fires in the winter, truly evoke the comfort and luxury of the glory days of the English Country House.

Enjoy a Cornish Breakfast, either in the light, airy dining room, or in the conservatory. Tredethy uses local Cornish produce whenever possible, so that your breakfast forms an intrinsic part of the experience of staying in this delightful part of the world.

Tredethy House offers dinner with a menu inspired by Italian regional recipes and the best local and organic ingredients. Marco and Cristina, the owners, run the kitchen and think the equation for an excellent meal is simple preparation of the freshest and highest quality foods you can get.
