Spring comes early to CornwallCornwall has the mildest climate in the UK, as spring comes early, and autumn lingers longer than in other regions.

Situated at the most south westerly tip of the British Isles Cornwall is very nearly an island surrounded on three sides by sea and almost sub-divided from neighbouring Devon by the River Tamar. Cornwall’s most westerly point - Lands End - and the far southern tip of the Lizard peninsula, help sketch the outline for mainland Britain as no other region stretches further south or west.

As such Cornwall's southerly location combined with the warming Gulf Stream - which wraps the county - produces lush semi-tropical gardens and makes the county a relatively mild place to visit, any time of year...

We get well over 1500 hours of sunshine each year and as the warmer temperatures fill the hedgerows with masses of flowers, the great gardens of Cornwall awake and each spring are celebrated by the countywide Cornish Gardens Festival. At this time of the year roads, beaches and countryside are almost empty, and although no one in the UK can ever guarantee fine weather, by coming south west for your classic car break it does at least help weigh the odds in your favour.
